Music-making for Senior Well-being
At MWS Nursing Home – Yew Tee, residents were engaged in rhythm-centred music-making using Soundbeam, a touch-free device with motion sensors that enable users to create music through movement. The creative use of music technology helped residents improve their physical, psychological and social health.
Virtual Reality, Real-life Impact
To boost the mental health of its residents, MWS Christalite Methodist Home has been engaging them in activities such as sing-alongs and boxing using immersive Virtual Reality-based applications. Participants experienced an improvement in mood and energy levels, with more than 66% wanting to relive the experience.
