Senior Nurse Manager / Nurse Manager [Choa Chu Kang]
Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities and Duties (80%) 

  • Oversees the team of RN/AN, NA/HA. 
  • Oversee the multidisciplinary care providers (OT/PT, Medical & Social workers) to provide quality nursing residential care for the elderly and sick residents. 
  • Responsible for regulatory compliances and nursing standards as stipulated by MOH and SNB. 
  • Leads quality assurance activities to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care.

Responsibilities

DIGITAL CONTENT & MARKETING

  • To develop a digital marketing and content strategy with detailed media plans to effectively promote MWS through various digital platforms. These include MWS website, social media, email marketing and any other relevant digital channels.
  • To leverage on MWS existing content as well as develop new content to raise awareness about the MWS organisation, our cause, our services/programmes and advocate for our beneficiaries.

Key Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities and Duties (80%):

  • Complies with approved standards of nursing practices.
  • Participates in activities to improve quality of care.
  • Attends to the needs of the residents.
  • Reports resident’s needs to the nurse in charge.
  • Ensures the safety, comfort and well-being of the residents..
  • Ensures good personal hygiene of the residents under his/her care.
  • Checks, monitors and records vital signs taken and to report to nurse in charge any abnormal readings.
  • Assists in the transfer and positioning of non-ambulant residents.
  • Assists the RN in ensuring residents take their medications.
  • Serves meals and feeds the residents.
  • Assists the nurse in the care for resident with urinary catheter.
  • Assists in admission and orientation of new residents.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of care given.
  • Accompanies residents to the hospital/polyclinic for follow-up appointments and outing trips.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for the nursing home.
  • Performs rehabilitation activities such as motion exercise and walking with residents.
  • Organizes and sends resident for appropriate therapy as prescribed, example occupational therapy
  • Escalate to nurses any emergency situations; where necessary take first responder actions to mitigate the emergency.

Secondary Responsibilities and duties (20%):

  • Supports in clinical service projects
  • Supports infection control campaign activities

Prerequisites / Requirements:

  • GCE N Levels
  • Attained the following training in either of the following:
    • WSQ Higher Certificate/Advanced Certificate in Healthcare Support (Nursing Care)
    • Institute of Technical (ITE) Approved Training Centre (ATC) Healthcare (Home Care) programme
  • Candidates with Basic Cardiac Life Support certification will have an added advantage
  • Able to adhere to established policies and procedures, standards of nursing care and practices
  • Physically fit in order to perform the various activities for/ with the residents
  • Able to work on a 6-day work week and on rotating shifts as follows:
    • 1st Shift: 6.30am-2.30pm
    • 2nd Shift: 1pm-9pm
    • 3rd Shift: 9pm-7am
