Strengthening Families And Improving Their Quality Of Life
What We Do
Casework and Counselling
Provided by social workers and counsellors, casework and counselling help individuals and families resolve their personal, social and emotional difficulties to cope with challenges in life. Our social workers and counsellors often help our clients with their marital conflicts, family issues, parenting issues, family violence, financial hardship and mental health issues.
Information and Referral
Our staff identify and assess the needs of individuals or families and link them with appropriate community resources. Individuals or families can call, walk in, write or email their queries on personal or family-related issues. They can also obtain information on appropriate community resources from our FSC.
Our community outreach team works in partnership with residents of a rental block, mobilising them to map out the community’s assets and resources and form closer ties with formal stakeholders. Through community outreach, the team also increases the FSC’s presence in the neighbourhood, thus, identifying and reaching out to more vulnerable families.
Psycho-educational and Support Group
The Psycho-educational and Support Group team conducts needs assessment and design psycho-educational and/or therapeutic activities for families that are currently receiving casework and counselling services from our FSC. Through the activities, the team works towards increasing advocacy skills, adaptability skills and access to community resources among participants. The activities also provide a place for healing, empowerment and validation.
