Melissa Fong, Assistant Nurse Clinician from MWS Home Care & Home Hospice (HCHH), has been honoured with the Nurses’ Merit Award 2023 given by the Ministry of Health.

The award recognises nurses who have displayed exemplary performance, participated in professional development, and contributed to raising the nursing profession.

As an integral part of the MWS HCHH family, Melissa works with a multi-disciplinary team to care for elderly, frail and palliative patients in their homes. In addition, the 33-year-old also trains junior nurses, and oversees the delivery of palliative care at MWS Nursing Home – Yew Tee.

On receiving the award, Melissa said, “I’m very thankful to God for blessing me with this award and to the management who has supported my journey in MWS all these years. “Nursing can be a very thankless profession in today’s society. But as nurses, we can help make a chapter in a patient’s life story a beautiful one.”

Jessie Pah, Senior Nurse Manager from MWS HCHH, said, “We are so grateful for Melissa’s contribution to the team’s growth. Her inquisitive mind, push for consistent improvement and heart for the work is just amazing!”

Congratulations Melissa, we couldn’t be more proud of you! Thank you for flying the MWS flag high!
