On 9 Feb 2022, the MWS Family Service Centre – Yishun team held an informal engagement with their peers from Yishun Family Service @ Children’s Society Singapore, where both teams exchanged best practices and reviewed emerging trends and issues in the Yishun area.
One issue identified was a rise in the number of complex cases cascading down to the FSCs, shared principle social worker at MWS FSC – Yishun, Bharathi Manogaran, who was part of the engagement team.
The FSCs also forged a data-sharing partnership, with the aim of identifying needs to better target intervention. “If we know, for example, that there is a rise in the number of younger couples coming into Yishun, then we may want to set up more services like Strengthening Families Programme@Family Service Centre (FAM@FSC), which provides marital or parenting support,” elaborated Bharathi on the basis for cross-collaboration.
