On 14 Jan 2022, the MWS Family Service Centre – Tampines team conducted online training on trauma-informed safety planning for 17 psychologists from Community Psychology Hub.

As family violence is the top issue dealt with at the FSC, MWS social workers and case workers at the Centre have the domain expertise in that area to provide this training.

The session, led by FSC Head Ruth Ng and a senior social worker, covered the creation of a trauma-informed safety plan through a case study, and the principles of child-centred practice.

One participant lauded the “professional wisdom” of the presenters, while another said the training provided “very clear and practical information in the area of family violence”.
